Instructor Support
Training in your own lab, on your own machines
The assessment usually finds the same thing: instructors who want training on specific equipment and techniques and haven't been able to get it. We bring the trainer to the shop.
One-on-one training
Customized, in the instructor's own lab, on the instructor's own machines. Topics follow what the assessment found and what the instructor asks for: operating the machine, programming it, setting up a job, maintaining it, and turning production practice into classroom projects. In Lane County the grant put roughly $100,000 into this kind of training, delivered by industry experts.
Machine sourcing, installation, and repair
We help schools choose equipment that matches what local employers use, place donated machines, install them, and keep them running. When a machine goes down, we can often get it back up without a service contract.
Classroom projects from real production work
Furniture Lab, developed with Pivot Architecture in Lane County, has manufacturing students building real furniture for community benefit. WBTO produces the manufacturing drawings and step-by-step build instructions the classrooms use. [Add one or two more examples if you want them named.]
Equipment assessments
A structured inventory of a shop's machines, tooling, and condition, with a maintenance plan and manuals gathered for each machine. [One sentence on how a school requests one.]
