Roughly $100,000 in professional development under Lane ESD's $499,923 CTE Revitalization Grant (one-pager, July 2026).

What the assessment found

CNC machining was the widest gap, as everywhere. Manual welding processes, stick, TIG, flux-core, and air-arc cutting, were the recurring weak points. 86 percent of interviewed manufacturers offered site tours and nearly half offered internships.

What followed

Roughly $100,000 of professional development and hands-on instructor training delivered by industry experts under the grant, the training instructors said they had wanted for years. WBTO is now the engineering partner for Furniture Lab, a program developed with Eugene design firm Pivot Architecture in which manufacturing students build real furniture for community benefit; WBTO produces the manufacturing drawings and step-by-step build instructions the classrooms use.
